ECCE granted full membership of ENQA

The European Council on Chiropractic Education (ECCE) is pleased to announce its successful application for full membership of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). ENQA is a quality assurance agency reviewing the processes and procedures of national higher education (HE) quality assurance agencies. ECCE’s application was somewhat different from those QA agencies usually reviewed by ENQA not only in terms of size but also being a pan-European organisation. Full membership of ENQA, granted in September 2010, followed an extensive external review of ECCE’s procedures and policies, and affirms the role of ECCE as one that is fit for purpose in the accreditation of undergraduate chiropractic education and training. As a member of ENQA, ECCE will share best practice with other HE QA agencies in Europe, and maintain and continuously improve on its function in the future. This successful application marks another ‘first’ for the chiropractic profession and establishes confidence in the ECCE as the benchmark for the accreditation of undergraduate chiropractic education and training in Europe.
